TPE saves money in camera design

Incorporating TPEs in the design of the Kodak Sportmax disposable camera provided multiple benefits, says Walt Ripple, director of marketing at resin supplier GLS Corp.

“We first wanted to incorporate a soft touch, but then realized it was very easy to add a bright color with the TPE,” says Ripple.

Ultimately the TPE also provided waterproofing and better shock resistance. The latter benefit allowed designers to select a less costly grade of resin for the camera housing.
