High growth has Toronto Plastics considering either building a new facility or acquiring another company in the Great Lakes area. While the plans are not firm, Toronto Plastics’ president David McQueen says 30 percent growth this year and 25 percent growth projected for next year is leaving the company with few options but to expand in some way or fashion. Expansion of the company’s present 68,000 sq.-ft. facility is not an option, however the company may consider adding more injection presses. A new facility, if built, would be in the range of 40,000 to 50,000 sq. ft., have 15 to 20 presses and be operational by the summer of 2001, says McQueen.
