A corrugated or wave shape machined into the upstream side of the breakerplate substantially increases the active filtration area of PATT Filtration’s Rotary III flow filtration system. Compared with the flat breakerplate and screenpack version of the Rotary III system, the new Corr-Ex active filtration area is increased by more than 60%, the company reports.
The increase in filtration is achieved with the same basic footprint as the conventional Rotary III.
With the Corr-Ex breakerplate available for all models, smaller-sized Rotary systems can now be used to filter highly contaminated resin. The new design also permits higher concentrations of recycled materials to be used in extrusion.
