Arburg Inc. (Newington, CT) has joined the ranks of injection molding machinery suppliers offering Trexel’s MuCell microcellular foam process. Engel and Ferromatik Milacron also have licensing agreements with Trexel (Woburn, MA). A supplier of low to medium tonnage machines, Arburg is licensed to sell new MuCell-capable machines or retrofit the process to existing Arburg equipment. Arburg is represented in Canada by Hamilton Avtec Inc. (Mississauga, Ont.).
CPI Plastics Group Ltd. (Mississauaga, Ont.) will supply its Extrudawood plastic decking system to Menards Inc. (Eau Claire, WI), the third largest U.S. chain of home improvement centres. CPI’s Extrudawood system is at the premium end of the multi-billion dollar North America outdoor decking market. Plastic and composite decking materials account for only five percent of this market but these products have been experiencing triple-digit growth.
