Ashland Distribution has been appointed the exclusive agent for Polynova Composites‘ line of infusion molding flow reinforcement products.

Ashland Distribution, a division of Ashland Inc., is a distributor of chemicals, plastics, composite materials and environmental services. The company, which recently obtained global ISO 9001:2000 certification, is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. Headquartered in Milford, Mass., Polynova Composites designs and manufactures infusion flow reinforcement fabrics for vacuum infusion processing.

Madison Heights, Mich.-based moldmaking equipment supplier D-M-E has formed an exclusive partnership agreement with Polimold Industrial S.A., a mold base and hot runner system provider headquartered in Sao Bernado do Campo, Brazil. The partnership is a culmination of a 20-year distributor relationship between the two companies, and will allow D-M-E to offer Polimold’s hot runner components worldwide.

Specialty chemical manufacturer Cytec Industries has begun production of high-solids acrylic polyols and water-based acrylics at its Langley, S.C., plant.

The production of Macrynal high-solids acrylic polyols and Viacryl water-based acrylics will expand Cytec’s position in low-volatile organic compounds (VOC) and hazardous air pollutants-free products, the company said.

Robert Schad, founder of Bolton, Ont.-based Husky Injection Molding Systems Ltd., will succeed Robert Gillespie as chairman of the board. Schad will assume the job upon re-election as a director at the company’s annual shareholders’ meeting on December 7.
