Eurotherm Gauging Systems has changed its name to EGS Gauging, Inc. Eurotherm Gauging was purchased in a management buyout last April. The new company name and logo completes the transition of the company to independent ownership and operation, says John Sharood, president. Based in Billerica, MA, EGS Gauging is a global provider of specialty measurement and control solutions for converters, and companies in the lightweight coating, aseptic coating, co-extrusion, and biaxially oriented film and sheet markets.

Bergen International has announced the appointment of Andicor Specialty Chemical Corporation as exclusive distributor for the company’s line of Foamazol chemical foaming/blowing agents for the Canadian plastics manufacturing and processing market. Foamazol products are available for use in most plastic applications such as structural foam molding, profile and sheet extrusion, blown and extruded films, injection molding, wire and cable, blow molded containers, polypropylene ribbon extrusion and others.

Chemical distributor ISC Specialty Chemicals Canada Inc. (Mississauga, ON) is now representing Taiwan Synthetic Rubber Corp., a Taiwanese manufacturer of specialty polymers such as SIS, SBS and SEBS. These products are used in the plastics industry to provide flexibility in compounds with other polymers such as polypropylene and polystyrene.

Stanmech Technologies Inc. (Burlington, ON) has extended its line of plastic joining and fabricating solutions through strategic partnerships with three new suppliers. Stanmech now represents the Leister Laser from Leister Technologies LLC of Illinois. This diode-based laser can provide precise plastic welding or soldering. For packaging applications, Stanmech now offers over wrap and bagging equipment from Package Machinery Co. of Massachusetts, and cost-effective heat seal equipment from Aline Heat Seal Corp. of California.

Univar Canada Ltd is transferring marketing and sales responsibilities for some of Eastman’s specialty resins and polymers to the Stochem Division (Brampton, ON). This change includes Eastman cellulose esters (CAB, CAP), Eastoflex (amorphous polyolefin), Eastotac hydrocarbon resins, and Epolene polymers (polyolefin waxes). Epolene polymers are a series of polyethylene and polypropylene waxes and modified polymers.
