Wittmann Robot & Automation Systems (Torrington, CT) will change its name to Wittmann Inc. to better reflect the company’s more broad product line, which now includes granulators, materials handling equipment, chillers and mold temperature controllers, in addition to robots and automation equipment. These products are available in Canada from Nucon Wittmann Inc. Also, David Preusse has been promoted to president of Wittmann Inc. Todd Rains is now national sales manager.
Dow Corning Corp. (Mississauga, ON) has acquired thermoplastics compounder Multibase, and will integrate the business with its own plastics business unit. The new entity will continue to operate under the Multibase corporate brand name and offers themoplastic elastomers, polyolefin masterbatches and compounds, and UHMW siloxane additives.
Thyssen Marathon Canada has changed its name to ThyssenKrupp Specialty Steels, A Division of ThyssenKrupp Materials CA, Ltd. As well, at the company, Judy Wolfe Foster has been promoted to general manager, and Ted Callighen has been promoted to regional sales manager.
