Auxiliary equipment manufacturer and distributor Hamilton Avtec (Mississauga, ON) has announced it will be moving to a new 24,000 sq. ft. facility at the end of August. The new facility has been specifically designed to manufacture the company’s Vectra series of products and to house its 5,000 sq. ft. technical centre. The new plant will also be located in Mississauga, at 1040 Cardiff Blvd. Phone and fax numbers will remain the same.

Newmarket, ON-based Plastics Machinery Inc. is now distributing the equipment of both Bauer Plastics Technology Group and New Castle Industries. Bauer makes compressors for gas-assisted injection molding, and New Castle designs and manufactures feedscrews.

With support from its creditors, Japanese injection molding machinery manufacturer Kawaguchi Ltd. has been removed from Chapter 11 status. Kawaguchi continues to manufacture and sell machines, and will introduce a new all-electric machine at IPF Japan Plastic Fair in November. In Canada, Kawaguchi is represented by Mould-tek Industries Inc. (Toronto).

Accuplast Solutions (Kirkland, QC) was the victim of a fire which gutted much of their multi-tenant building on June 24th, 2002. Temporary repair work enabled them to stay operational through the crisis. Full reconstruction of the facility is currently underway.
