A lot has happened at Nucon Systems Ltd. in the past few months, and it was all wrapped up at a recent open house event. The auxiliary equipment supplier has settled in to a larger plant in Markham, and is now owned by Wittmann Robot and Automation Systems (Torrington, CT). Blow mold manufacturer Compact Mould Ltd., Woodbridge, Ont. has expanded again by opening two new sister companies. Compact Mould Repair & Modification is located in a 3500 sq. ft. facility in Brampton, Ont. that will offer a full range of mold repair and modification services. It is headed by Albino Petrucci, who is also vice president manufacturing at Compact Mould. Compact Bottle Design Ltd., headed by long-time Compact employee Ivan Da Barp, offers custom product drawings and design services from its office in Woodbridge, Ont.
Three extrusion equipment suppliers have teamed up to offer complete extrusion systems for the wood composite polymer market. Krupp Werner & Pfleiderer (Ramsey, NJ) supplies compounding extruders, Extrusion Services Inc. is an expert in downstream equipment, and Extrusion Tooling Inc. is a manufacturer of extrusion dies and calibration tooling. Extensive work among the three companies in WP’s pilot facility during the past year, combined with a number of production systems, resulted in the decision to form an alliance to offer single source, pre-engineered extrusion systems to this growing market.
AW Compounders Ltd. (Stoney Creek, Ont.) has changed its name to AlphaGary Canada Ltd.
