Ube Machinery Inc. announced the launch of its new HUMMA-X Controller for its UM Series injection molding machines at the company’s open house in July. The HUMMA-X uses a Xycom Automation HMI (human/machine interface) industrial PC designed for the shop floor environment that uses special software to interface with the machine control. The company says the PC-based hardware/software package, driven in a Windows-NT environment, provides graphics that are easier to use and a touch screen control for improved set-up, processing and diagnostic monitoring.
Uniroyal Chemical Company, Inc. announced the purchase of the Unite product line, a worldwide business of Aristech Chemical Corp. Unite products are maleic anyhydride grafted polypropylene used as coupling agents for the glass-filled polypropylene market. Uniroryal Chemical will sell and service the product line worldwide.
