Clariant Masterbatches has purchased another twin-screw extrusion line for its plant in Toronto. The new line will be used for small to medium-sized runs of a variety of additive and color concentrates. “It’s a smaller machine, but with high output,” says Yvon Garneau, sales manager at Clariant Masterbatches. “This increases our production efficiencies, and helps keep our production costs down.” The new line will be up and running by the end of this year. Clariant already added an extrusion line at its Toronto plant earlier this year. (see Canadian Plastics, March 2005, pg. 9).

Robotic Production Technology (RPT) is now an authorized distributor and integrator of KMT Waterjet Systems’ pumps for high-pressure robotic cutting systems in North America.

Under the agreement, RPT will sell standalone KMT high-pressure pumps as well as integrated into its waterjet systems. Additionally, RPT is authorized to service the pumps as well as supply spare parts.
