ExxonMobil Chemical has announced the start-up of its new commercial metallocene ethylene elastomer manufacturing facility in Baton Rouge, LA, adding more than 90 thousand tons of annual capacity into the market.

ExxonMobil Chemical has announced the start-up of its new commercial metallocene ethylene elastomer manufacturing facility in Baton Rouge, LA, adding more than 90 thousand tons of annual capacity into the market.

“This expansion is a key step in advancing our ethylene elastomer product portfolio with unique, differentiated polymers,” said Mary Ahner, vice-president, ExxonMobil Chemical Ethylene Elastomers. The site will produce ExxonMobil Chemical’s new Vistamaxx specialty elastomers, launched in June 2003. The site’s metallocene ethylene elastomer products are expected to be commercially available in early second quarter 2004.
