Atlantis Plastics (Atlanta, GA) has improved the strength and clarity of both its monolayer and coextruded films by replacing conventional linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) with Eastman Hifor and Hifor Clear resins.
The higher strength of the resins allows Atlantis to downgauge and reduce costs. Hifor resins are especially suitable for packaging because they have strong heat seals and excellent burst strength.
“The processability of these materials is far superior to that of ordinary PE resin,” says Kevin Featherstone, technical support specialist for Atlantis.
