In an attempt to build a better CD storage case, Allsop Inc. teamed up with GLS Corporation in order to overcome some initial production problems. The CD Sport 10, a hard polypropylene shell with a unique look and feel because of its soft overmolded areas, ran into some problems when none of the overmolding materials would function well with the polypropylene substrate.

Enter GLS Corporation, who offered a variety of potential TPEs to Allsop. After testing a number of them, Allsop decided on Versaflex CL-40, which turned out to be the key to the project’s success. The colorable CL-40 allowed Allsop to market a wide range of colors, while at the same time providing the needed grip, feel, and durability. The TPE adhered well to the hard shell and offered additional shock and splash resistance, setting the case apart in a crowded market.
