Schmalbach-Lubeca’s new 24-ounce, heat-set, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle for Reebok Fitness Water enhances gripping and squeezability and better absorbs vacuum. The company’s new ErGo-Grip hot-fill design incorporates four horizontal rib panels in the grip area, replacing traditional vacuum panels. The design also features a rounded shoulder for label placement and two vertical pillars that provide stability and showcase the embossed Reebok brand on opposite sides of the bottle.

The wider-mouth orifice — 43 mm — addresses a new consumer trend toward ‘gulpable’ drinks. The PET bottle, which is topped with a proprietary clear sports cap targets large consumption, single-serve applications that are geared toward ‘active thirsts.’

“Consumer response to Reebok Fitness Water has been tremendous, both at retail and at different events,” says Jay Margolis, president of the specialty business group for Reebok.
