Spartech Buys Assets of Accura Molding

Spartech Corporation (St. Louis, MO) has purchased the assets of Accura Molding Company Ltd., a manufacturer of Brita brand pitchers and water-purification filter components, as well as other custom injection molded products based in Brampton, Ont. The announced purchase price for the acquisition was approximately US$9.6 million.

Spartech’s chairman, president and CEO, Bradley B. Buechler noted that the purchase will help Spartech broaden the company’s product and service capabilities, increase overall injection molding capacity and expand its injection molded product’s geographic coverage in the northern U.S. and Canada.

Spartech is a producer of engineered thermoplastic materials, compounds and molded and profile products with 41 facilities in North America and Europe. In its last fiscal year Accura had sales of US$11.1 million.
