More than 140 companies registered for approximately 75 per cent of available exhibit space during the Plast-Ex 2007 space draw held at the International Centre in Mississauga, Ont., on Oct. 10.

“The 141 contracted exhibitors represent a very positive turnout for the space draw,” Sally Damstra, director, International Trade and Shows, CPIA, said. “And since that time, another 20 or so companies have signed for their floor space”.

Continuing the successful format of previous Plast-Ex shows, Plast-Ex 2007 will offer breakfast seminars and lunch-and-learn sessions throughout the show. The concept of theme days will continue as well, with such topics on the agenda as automation and innovation in manufacturing; packaging, recycling and energy savings; and automotive transportation. The show will also include Austrian, Taiwanese, Indian, Italian and Chinese pavilions.

“This show will be a vote of confidence in — and a sign of the strength of — the Canadian plastics industry during a tough period,” Damstra said.
