Software performs no-hassle shrinkage and warpage simulation from solid models

C-MOLD Mesh Express is a software that is fully integrated within the C-MOLD Advanced Solutions interface. The new technology automatically converts solid models into midplane finite element models (FEM). Traditionally, creating a midplane FEM from solids has been a time-consuming process which many companies have avoided, thereby risking tooling mishaps using trial and error methods.

In the example shown here, the solid model of a fascia was created in a solid modeling package and an integrated 3D QuckFill simulation was performed. Using the same STL model and Mesh Express, the solid model was converted to a mid-plane FEM model suitable for shrinkage and warpage simulation in just minutes.
