The new RP6600 series of Kraton general purpose injection molding compounds was developed for applications requiring a soft-touch feel and good aesthetics (including surface appearance and colorability). The RP grades also give processors a wide processing window for complex mold geometry.

“As the soft-touch trend continues to develop, the expansion of the existing Kraton general compound product line will help meet the need of the U.S. market,” says Walter Ripple, GLS marketing director.

Four of the new grades are FDA compliant and are available in black and natural. A fifth grade is a translucent 45 Shore A TPE, with high tensile strength and elongation properties suitable for applications requiring brilliant or translucent colors.

The RP grades have high-flow properties suitable for long and thin-wall parts and possess good overmolding adhesion to polypropylene.
