Soft feel TPU has good abrasion resistance

BASF Corp. has introduced three new grades of thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers for soft overmolding applications. They are targetted for use in electronics, tools and consumer goods.

The non-plasticized Elastollan grades (LP9093, LP9175, LP9179) offer excellent bonding to ABS, polycarbonate, ABS/PC blends, polyester products (PET, etc.), nylon and many other thermoplastics. They can be easily colored, and offer a soft tactile feel.
