Reclaim longer sprues, runners and small parts with the largest slow-speed granulator available from Hosokawa Polymer Systems. The SS167 granulator features a 18.5 x 23.5 in. hopper opening with a 16 x 7 in. throat and can be fed manually or by a robot, sprue picker or conveyor.

Hosokawa says the advantages of the slow-speed granulator include quieter operation, less wear, and the production of fewer fines due to its smaller motor and low rotor speeds. The unit generates the same high torque levels as high-speed machines but uses a motor that is 40 percent smaller.

Quick connect for knock-outs more durable

Changes to the Smartflow FasTie Quick-Connect and Release Ejector Knock-Out Systems make the system more durable and easier to use. FasTie allows molders to quickly couple and uncouple the ejector knock-outs of injection molds and presses.

Male studs are now rounded where the ball bearings of the coupler make contact to increase the mechanical strength of the connection. In addition, the coupler design has been altered to accept the male stud without shop air applied, preventing accidental coupler crash.

Harder parts and increased piston size facilitate more positive and reliable coupler connection.
