Nordica ski boots are getting a makeover with transparent aromatic grades of TPU Desmopan from Bayer MaterialScience AG. The shell and upper of Nordica’s Speed Machine and Beast ski boot models are injection molded using the resin.
“The TPU gives you a clear insight into the ‘inner life’ and technical refinements of the boot. This not only offers greater design freedom, it also enables the manufacturer to make his design skills and technical expertise clearly visible,” said Luigi Cermosoni, head of the Sports & Leisure TPU segment of the TPU Business Unit at Bayer MaterialScience AG.
The transparent Desmopan grades are based on polyethers and are available in hardnesses of 52-65 Shore D.
