Strong enough to take repeated blows from a five-pound sledgehammer, Almanac Marketing Services’ (Ajax, Ont.) Crow Blade hockey skate blade holder is currently in use by over 300 professional hockey players worldwide. The crow blade consists of an alloy steel blade mounted in a nylon blade holder. Almanac selected Bayer Durethan BC 402 polyamide 6 for the holder, which is molded by Automatic Plastics Inc. (Scarborough, Ont.) in 13 sizes. Three different mold bases are used, with an average cycle time of 70 seconds.
