Demag Ergotech GmbH of Germany and Max Allemann Werkzeugbau AG of Switzerland has teamed up to offer complete production systems for smart cards (cards with embedded chips).
A typical example would be a production island based on an Ergotech 100/420-200 system injection molding machine. This would be equipped with a linked-up parts handling system from the Swiss company Zubler, a four-cavity mold, a cooling section, and degating and depositing equipment from Allemann.
A cycle time as short as 4.8 seconds is possible, report the partners.
