C-MOLD announces a new process set-up capability within C-MOLD 2000 Advanced Solutions software that dramatically improves the correlation of simulation results with measurements taken from the molding machine. It also streamlines communication between engineering and manufacturing groups. This new technology incorporates the injection molding machine barrel into the simulation process and actually accounts for polymer compressibility in the barrel.

Without considering compressibility of the molten material in the barrel, there can be a major discrepancy between the simulation and reality. Such compressibility can account for six to10 percent density or volumetric flow rate differences.
