Siloxane additives give surface modification benefits

Dow Corning Functionalized UHMW Siloxane Masterbatches facilitate a higher concentration of the siloxane toward the surface of the fabricated part, providing improved surface benefits.

When added at levels of 0.1 percent to one percent siloxane, the additives offer reduced melt fracture, better mold filling, less extruder torque, internal lubrication, mold release and less warpage of the molded part. At higher levels of one percent to five percent, the products offer enhanced lubricity and slip, lower COF and improved mar resistance.

In polyolefin film, the additive demonstrates superior slip.
