Advanced Vinyl Concepts introduces the “Calf Condo”, a one-room unit with sliding sunroof, rear ventilation, hay feeder and bucket/bottle holder, constructed of insulated plastic panels. The panels have inner and outer layers of coextruded sheet and an inner core of polystyrene foam. The co-extruded sheet has a base layer of impact-resistant, rigid Terluran ABS and a face layer of weather-resistant Luran S ASA supplied from BASF Corporation.
The Calf Condo allows dairy farmers to individually house calves, at birth, in a disease-free environment where they can be fed while the cows go back to producing milk. The outer layer of weather-resistant Luran S means the units do not require painting and can be easily cleaned. The polystyrene foam insulates the units from low temperatures.
