Rubbermaid Canada has announced plans to increase its manufacturing and distribution capabilities at its Mississauga, Ont. facility. According to the company, the expansion includes increased warehouse storage, additional injection and blow molding machines and new robotics, and is scheduled to be completed by the second quarter of the year 2000. The expansion is the largest single investment in Rubbermaid’s Mississauga facility in over 30 years.

According to Patrick Bradley, Rubbermaid Canada president and general manager, the expansion will streamline the company’s distribution processes and result in improved customer service. Rubbermaid Canada, a subsidiary of Newell Rubbermaid Inc., employs about 350 people in facilities located in Montreal and Calgary, as well as Mississauga.
