Cylindrical parts can often be the most difficult for robotic end-of-arm-tooling to grip. For these applications, EMI’s Air Hands are often a suitable alternative to vacuum cups and grippers.

They are available in either inside diameter or outside diameter styles. The Air Hands fit either inside the cylindrical part or around the outside. Once in place a bladder inflates to provide gentle, all-over grip force. To release the part, the bladder deflates. Small Air Hands are very light and can be used effectively in multi-cavity molds.
