Despite economic slowdowns in some sectors of the economy, IPL Inc. set record results for revenue in its second quarter, ended March 29, 2001. Julien Metivier, president and CEO, is confident the company will reach its goal of 15% growth in sales and net earnings for the 2000-2001 fiscal year.

For the second quarter, sales increased 24%, reaching 46.8 million. Earnings climbed 20.9% compared with the second quarter a year earlier. Metivier’s message to shareholders notes that the results show how effectively the company’s strategy of developing high value-added products is working. In addition, a cost reduction program and tighter control of capital spending have contributed to IPL’s positive results.
