A Quebec-based supplier of components for the composites industry has been purchased by multinational composites supplier SP Group. ATC Chemicals Inc. has been renamed SP Systems (North America), and will continue to focus on the development, manufacture and supply of polyester compounds and Core-Cell foam, which is used as a core material in sandwich-type composites.

ATC has two manufacturing facilities in Drummondville, QC, one in Magog, QC, and administrative and sales offices in Burlington, ON.

“Our acquisition of these assets allows us to ensure the continued supply of what have become key structural materials in the composites industry,” said David Cripps, SP’s head of planning and communications at the company’s UK headquarters.
