Moldmaker and injection molder Promold Corp. has moved to larger premises in Stoney Creek, Ont. The facility has 20,000 sq. ft. of floor space, or approximately double the area of the company’s previous plant. Promold’s president Dan Bruneau says a larger plant was required because of continued growth which has averaged about 15 percent per year.

Bruneau says the company has recently purchased a new injection molding machine and is planning on buying an additional machine within the next year. The company has a mixture of Battenfelds, Toshibas, Van Dorns and other models ranging from 20- to 400 tons in clamping force. Bruneau says 85 percent of Promold’s business is custom molding, which it usually acquires by first making the tool. The company molds mostly industrial items for the transportation, consumer appliance and electronics market.
