ECONOMICAL ROBOTS WITH NEW FEATURES

Conair’s new economical Axess three-axis servo robot will be operating on a 150-ton Demag injection molding machine at Plast-Ex. The robot is designed for simple pick-and-place applications on molding machines of 200 tons and under. Priced about 25% below other units in the same size range, the Axess still has lots of high-performance capabilties, including simultaneous motion on all three axes and multiple vacuum and pressure circuits to allow degating, selective part placement and other functions.

Also at Plast-Ex a Conair 4030 Generation IV robot will service a 550-ton Demag machine. Aimed at small- to mid-size molding machine applications, the Generation IV units are servo robots with long vertical strokes and new arm designs.

OVERHEAD CONVEYOR EASY TO MODIFY

Pacline’s unique Enclosed Track Overhead Conveyor systems are designed to readily fit into the tightest confines of any plant. The system’s 9 in. radius, 180 degree horizontal curves are the tightest in the industry. Standard prefabricated bolt-together components reduce the cost of installation and make future line modifications easy to accommodate. Variable-speed controls allow the flow of product to be set to meet increasing production demands.

LASER ROBOT WITH IMPROVED GUIDANCE

Reis Robotics newly developed RV6L-CO2 laser robot is suitable for a wide range of applications in the plastics manufacturing industry. Unlike standard laser-guided robots, the RV6L’s CO2 laser source is now mounted laterally into the upper arm of axis two.

As a result of the arm’s location close to the robot base, it is possible to move larger and heavier laser heads (up to 400 kg) without interfering with the available work envelope. Even with this new configuration, the entire dynamics and accuracy of the robot are maintained. In addition, because of the lower acceleration forces of the head, continuous operation is enhanced.
