The recently launched Plastics Technical Information Service (PlasTIS) Pilot program is looking for plastics industry professionals to evaluate its on-line information and participate in a survey on the technical information needs of the industry. PlasTIS is a joint initiative of the NRC’s Canada Institute for Scientific and Technical Information (CISTI), the Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP) and the Canadian Plastics Industry Association.

According to the CPIA’s Sally Press, the on-line information of the PlasTIS Pilot includes technical reports from the Industrial Research and Development Institute, a patent search program from CISTI as well as the CISTI Source Table of Contents database covering 14,000 journals, a consultant’s directory, troubleshooting reports, useful Web site information and more. The program is restricted to CPIA and IRAP members and runs until the end of November. For more information call Sally Press at 905/678-7405, ext. 228.
