A French hardware manufacturer, Compagnie International de Quincaillerie, has recently introduced its unique line of copolymer door handles, coated push bars and signs that glow in the dark. Recharging themselves during the day by natural or artificial light, the photoluminescent Art-Themis line of products makes them easy to find in dark stairwells and during power outages.

Made from DuPont’s Surlyn, the line includes three designer-shaped handles, offered in pacific blue, glacier blue, translucent, green, amber and firefly green. The Surlyn resin is made photoluminescent by an eco-friendly process that releases light in darkness for more than eight hours.
