Michael Santa has joined Battenfeld of America, Inc., West Warwick, RI, as president and CEO. He will oversee Battenfeld’s injection molding machinery business in Canada as well as in the U.S.

Carlo Fiorentini, founder and president of Cannon Group, became the fifth member of the Polyurethane Hall of Fame when he was inducted during a ceremony at the recent Polyurethanes Conference 2002 in Salt lake City, UT.

“I have received many honors in my career, including the FSK Gold Medal (from the German Plastics Material Association), but this is the greatest honor,” Mr. Fiorentini told the audience.

Fiorentini’s contributions to the polyurethanes industry include more than 60 patents and innovations, such as the self-cleaning mixing heads and the first high-pressure, reinforced RIM with continuous recycling in the low and high pressure cycles.

Dale Werle has been appointed president of Ferromatik Milacron North America. He had been vice president and general manager of the company since 1999. Werle now has responsibility for Milacron’s entire Ohio-based injection molding machinery business, including rebuilt and remanufactured products. Among his responsibilities, Werle will be a driving force behind the implementation of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing practices.

Jeff Davis has been named general manager of Advanced Elastomers Systems, L.P. effective September 2002. He joins AES from ExxonMobil Chemical, which acquired ownership of AES earlier this year. Regarding AES’ direction as an ExxonMobil Chemical affiliate, Davis commented, “We want to maintain the strategic AES core competencies while maximizing synergies and strengthening areas important to our continued future success. We also want to retain the AES passion for the business.”
