Numatech Industries Inc., a supplier of converted corrugated plastic products and returnable/reusable packaging systems, has acquired a controlling interest in Ted Thorsen LLC, a provider of material handling and returnable packaging products to markets across North America.

Numatech, a division of Matra Plast Industries Inc., now has seven manufacturing plants in North America, including a 60,000 sq. ft. design and converting facility at Puslinch, ON, in south-central Ontario. The company also owns Anson Screen in Waterloo, ON.

Ted Thorsen Co. was founded in 1953 in Boston by Ted Thorsen. The company grew from its niche as a supplier of material handling/reusable packaging products for the apparel manufacturing to supply reusable packaging for a variety of industries and markets.

“The Ted Thorsen acquisition opens up new distribution channels for Numatech,” said Brent Vickery, Numatech president. “Namely, the e-commerce and catalogue sales of material handling and returnable packaging products.”
