Blow molders have an opportunity to monitor wall thickness distribution automatically with TopWave’s new Wall Thickness Profiler PG9800. The profiler significantly improves the accuracy of at-the-line container quality-testing procedures and provides cost-savings since bottles removed from the line for sampling can be returned undamaged following the testing scan.

The system is said to provide more accurate results than section weight cutting.

It features a self-teaching mode for job set-up. To program parameters, the operator simple feeds in several containers that conform to the guideline and allows the machine to develop a profile of accepted measurements. Numerous profiles can be stored in memory.
