Bayer Materialscience Offers Online Training Centre for Safe Handling of Bayer Polyurethane Raw Materials

Allotting a few hours for training sessions on materials and safety issues may seem a luxury that many plastics processors can not afford.

Knowing this, Bayer MaterialScience launched is BayCare Online Training Center, a new feature to its BayCare Product Stewardship Program. The BayCare Online Training Center supplements Bayer customers’ in-house training programs and makes it easier to get information for the safe handling and storage of polyurethane chemicals.

The program came about when the company decided to simplify how its customer received safety and material, said Herman Campbell, manager of the BayCare program for Bayer MaterialScience in Pittsburg, Pa.

In the past, Bayer’s safety and material information was paper-based and training was through seminars at the company’s various locations. Traditional class-based training is still offered.

The BayCare Online Training Center uses a remote campus infrastructure and offers its students features such as online quizzes, formal tests, custom teaching and testing modules, and ways for managers to gauge employee performance.

The Center is made to give plastics processors with a small safety staff a means of staying abreast of the latest safety procedures and information.

The program (www.baycareonline.com) is available to all Bayer customers.
