A new, independent trade association has been formed to serve the interests of the thermoset industry . The Thermoset Resin Formulators Association (TRFA) has incorporated as a non-profit trade association.

The group is comprised of former members of the Thermoset Technology Division of the SPI. The Division had been the only organization solely dedicated to serving the interests of thermoset formulators. In 2002, certain Division leaders initiated discussions about establishing a separate organization to better meet the needs of this industry, resulting in the TRFA.

The TRFA has offices in Glen Ellyn, IL. Prospective members include raw material suppliers, thermoset formulators, equipment manufacturers, consulting firms and academic institutions. The initiation fee will be waived for charter members joining during the association’s first year. The group will hold its first annual meeting this year, Nov. 10-11, in Philadelphia, PA.
