New resins deliver high clarity

Lyondell Chemical’s Equistar Chemicals business has introduced two new resins, PP30HF01 and PP33HF04 polypropylene-ethylene copolymer resins, which feature Milliken Chemcial’s Millad 3988 clarifying agent. Designed for use in molding and extrusion applications, including blow molding, sheet, injection molding and film, where clarity is essential, these new resins can be used to make food containers, beverage bottles and personal care product packaging. “We wanted to offer a superior product with exceptional clarity,” says Chuck Shearn, Lyondell’s marketing manager for blow molding. “By incorporating Millad 3988 into our resins, we can offer our clients products with outstanding clarity, faster cycle time, dimensional stability and toughness.”
