New Resin Enhances Frp Fabrication

Dow Chemical Comp. has launched a new line of epoxy vinyl ester resins it says provides FRP fabricators with increased productivity, higher quality and better performance characteristics in comparison to other resin systems.

Derakane Momemtum resins have the same chemical backbone as the current Derakane resins, making them ideal for use in applications requiring exceptional corrosion resistance and/or structural strength. However, Derakane Momentum resins require lower levels of promoter and little or no accelerator or gel time extender like 2,4 pentanedione. The new resins also have shelf life twice as long as current epoxy vinyl ester resins, lower color and better stress crack resistance.
