The new medium-output Weldplast S2 plastic extrusion welder from Leister is designed to bridge the gap between the company’s low-output and high-output models, uses either three or four mm welding rod, and provides output of up to 2.5 kg/hr.

The rod is fed into the extrusion section of the welder at one of two points around the barrel, and the rod feed design minimizes excessive twisting of welding rod during feeding, reducing “bird nesting” and stoppages.

The Weldplast S2 has been built to last with a low-noise drive mechanism, high-performance gearbox and maintenance-free blower. The welder is especially suited for plastic welding in tight spaces, weighing just 5.8 kg and measuring 450 mm.

The extrusion welder features integrated digital electronics for precise adjustment and control of preheat air temperature, extrudate temperature and the output rate. The built-in protection circuit prevents the extruder drive from cold starting.

The 360 rotatable welding shoe and rotatable handle are standard on the Weldplast S2. Many different profiles of welding shoes are also available, and each shoe is interchangeable without the need for preheating the extruder.
