ReBASE Corp. has introduced a unique, plastics-based composite material, WK-MAX, that it says is a low-cost, superior alternative to sheet products like plywood. The formulation for the WK-MAX specialty compound was developed jointly with Mortile Industries Ltd. ReBASE supplied its White Knight resin filler/additive, while Mortile provided its closed cell foaming agent, Morofoam, to the development project.
According to both companies, WK-MAX, when used to manufacture housing panels, provides material strength to meet wind load, deflection and moisture requirements, while also meeting applicable flammability specifications.
