Molding controller thinks in terms of volume

Using the latest technology in control systems, Sandretto’s new SEF 2000 controller simplifies the transfer of a mold from one machine to another.

The SEF 2000 controller “thinks” in terms of volume for injection functions, instead of in linear terms. This means a mold can be moved to a different machine without the need to re-establish molding parameters.

For example, if a mold is first mounted and run on one machine and molding parameters are identified, it is possible with the SEF 2000 to later use the mold on another machine of a different screw size or clamp tonnage, and transfer the settings by a floppy disk. The second SEF 2000 control system adjusts the linear settings to produce the required injection volume, and molding parameters do not need to be re-established.
