Extrusion processors and converters can accurately and continuously monitor temperature distribution of extruded sheet or film with two new extrusion-process imaging systems from Raytek.
The EC100 is designed to monitor film extrusion, extrusion coating and lamination, while the ES100 subdivides a thermal image into sectors that can correspond to die bolts. This allows early detection of die bolt heater problems or plugged dies.

Communications converters for fieldbus
RKC Instruments now offers DeviceNet and Profibus communications gateways for its product lines. The COM-G converter interfaces with RKC single loop controllers to enable them to work as a slave to the PLC via Profibus.
COM-H converts protocol between RKC standard/ANSI used by multi-loop controls and the PLC to DeviceNet. It can link with up to 20 zones of autotuning PID control.
