Materials: Polyolefin Promotes Metal/Plastic Adhesion

A new grade of polyolefin from Atofina is designed to promote maximum adhesion between metal foil and polypropylene. Orevac 18370 is a grafted polyolefin suitable for production of metallized, laminated multi-layer films used in the manufacture of compound flexible packaging for a variety of food products.

Used in the outer layer for cast polypropylene films, Orevac 18370 enhances adhesion between the CPP and metallized layer by a factor of five to 10 times. Improved adhesion between the CPP and metallized layer also enhances overall barrier properties.
