Materials: Pigments Give Granite Appearance at Less Cost

All Plastics Inc. has introduced a new line of granite-effect colorants, Deco-Spex, designed to impart a granite or stone appearance in thermoplastic products manufactured by injection molding, extrusion and rotational molding processes. Deco-Spex is a line of pigmented, ground polymer film products classified into six grades ranging from 100 to 1500 microns. The products are said to require 30% less loading than similar special-effects pigments.

These pigments are chemically stable and FDA compliant for use in food contact applications. The pigments have high mechanical stability, which makes them suitable for use in twin-screw extruders, as well as good heat stability and color fastness.
