Optiflex is the industry’s first 70 Shore A grade of clear (near optical) TPE. Star Thermoplastics is producing the grade using proprietary technology. According to George Koprowisz, technical director of TPEs at Star, “The 70 Shore A hardness often required by molders and products manufacturers simply could not be achieved without undesirable yellowing of the compound. With our technology, we have been able to produce a TPE without yellow, making it ideally suited for a variety of applications.”
