Cabot has introduced two new conductive carbon blacks for production of semi-conductive compounds used in the manufacture of electric power cables. Vulcan XC200 is designed for strippable shields; it allows the insulation to be peeled back easily while also providing an overall balance of other properties. XC500, which is designed for fully bonded shields, provides a high degree of conductivity and surface smoothness.
